Repertoire

The choir is able to sing a wide range of music from the early 2 and 3 choir music of Victoria and Guerrero, the classical repertoire of Haydn and Mozart through to modern masters such as Vaughan Williams Poulenc, Copland, Rutter and, of course, David Moss.

Many of the Spring Concerts present the Baroque Repertoire of Purcell, Charpentier, Vivaldi, Bach and Handel with the excellent Severn Strings Orchestra under the leadership of Justine Tomlinson and with nationally known soloists

CHRISTMAS CONCERTS

The Oriana Singers season begins in October - with rehearsals for our Christmas concerts, which are given in local churches.

Christmas Concert programmes include a capella and accompanied works from the 16th to 20th Century, as well as more light-hearted pieces. There are also readings and carols for the audience to sing.

Recent Christmas Concert programmes

We also sing traditional Christmas carols in places such as Gloucester M5 Services, Newark Park and Sainsbury's - to raise funds for local charities.

SPRING CONCERTS

Rehearsals resume in January, building up to the Spring concert in which the choir is accompanied by Chamber Orchestra, Organ or Brass Consort.

Spring Concert Programmes include many and varied kinds of music - often including an extended work.
